Who We Are
We are a diverse team of academics and practitioners, with experience and expertise in conflict analysis and resolution, and extensive knowledge of international affairs, and particularly the MENA region. We believe a peaceful and prosperous future of the MENA region is contingent upon having innovative leadership in all realms of life, and our ability to foster meaningful and sustainable relationships across ethnic, religious, and national boundaries. The basis for such relations between peoples of the region must be based on mutual respect and on paradigms of conflict resolution. Encounters - at eye level - are one essential ingredient in building meaningful relationships.
Following ILLI Initiatives' successful endeavors in the MENA region, we have recently expanded to offer trips to and internships in additional regions of the world.
Dr. Adina Friedman has over 30 years of experience in conflict resolution and related endeavors. She was a participant in some of the early Arab-Jewish/Israeli peacebuilding programs in the region, and later initiated and implemented many other pioneering projects.
What We Do
To achieve its goals, ILLI offers a variety of programs, including international travel throughout the MENA region; exchanges between internationals and people from the region as well as between various groups within the region; immersion and other intensive language study programs; the opportunity to do an internship or service learning in the country and field of choice; and conflict resolution and leadership development workshops and training.
